Introducing Dr. King
Charlee King, DrPH, MPH, CLC, CHW Dr. Charlee King is a Houston-based public health researcher, maternal health strategist, and entrepreneur whose work centers breastfeeding equity for Black mothers.
She is the founder of The Mommy Room Lactation Suites, Mommy Sweet Treats & Company, LactaTrack, and Maternal Impact Strategies Consulting (MISC), and the author of The Breastfeeding Blueprint and Thanks for Telling Me.
A Texas Southern University alumna, she created the university’s first lactation room as an undergraduate and has since designed lactation spaces for organizations throughout the Houston area.Her doctoral research examines hospital and sociocultural influences on breastfeeding duration among non-Hispanic Black mothers, and she brings that research directly into her consulting, training, and speaking work.
